What We're Learning

“Gratitude doesn’t change the scenery. It merely washes clean the glass you look through so you can clearly see the colors.”

-Richelle E. Goodrich

During the holiday week, our class talked a lot about family and being thankful for the things we have in our lives. The children came up with an entire web of ideas about families, what it means to be a family, and things families do together as well as for each other. Also, each of the children talked about one thing they’re very thankful for and wrote them on a leaf that they then placed on the giving thanks tree at the entrance of the school. Check them out next time you’re here!

The children have voted and it’s time to move onto another topic of study! Based on children’s interest, curiosity, and excitement level, we will be learning everything we can about…. Drum roll please…. MUSIC! Keep a look out for all of the interesting things we’ll be learning each week about music.

From School to Home

Introduce your child to your favorite genre of music. Talk about the word genre and why this particular one is your favorite. Have a favorite song? Blast it through the house and have a family dance party! Talk about tempo and beat while dancing fast and slow to the song.
